Teens who are interested in agriculture are able to join FFA, formerly called Future Farmers of America. FFA is a nonprofit agricultural education organization that helps teenagers learn to become leaders in the world of agriculture and, by extension, the world at large. FFA sponsors and organizes competitions and conventions nationwide that allow participants to explore agriculture hands-on in a lively and high-energy learning arena.

Today there are approximately 500,000 participants throughout the nation, competing in a wide variety of skill areas from livestock farming to public speaking. FFA publishes an award-winning magazine called FFA New Horizons, through which members are able to keep current on FFA events and issues of importance in the agriculture field.
