The Nader for President 2008 campaign is seeking college students and recent graduates for part-time and full-time internships at the National Campaign Headquarters in Washington, DC. Individuals can apply for summer and fall internships. Interns will engage in a national presidential campaign, as it progresses towards the November election. Internships are unpaid, but academic credit may be arranged. Students should check with their individual academic institutions for requirements.
Qualifications:
Applicants should be well-organized, self-motivated and reliable, have good phone manner and have an ability to multi-task in a busy campaign environment. Applicants should be completing or have recently completed post-secondary education. Excellent academic qualifications are expected. Computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office, Internet applications) are expected.
Duties:
Interns will operate out of the National Campaign Headquarters in Washington, DC. Intern duties will include, but are not limited to:
In-Office Tasks:
- general office work
- phone-banking
- data-entry
- writing: op-eds, letters to the editor etc.
- events planning
- student organizing
- web design
- research
- graphic design
- organizational outreach
- interior decorating
- fundraising
- press and media coordination
Field Tasks:
- signature gatherings and petitions
- door-to-door canvassing
- local media coordinating
- photography
- street theater
- art projects
- demonstrating
