RALPH NADER AND ROCKY ANDERSON WILL 'TALK IMPEACHMENT' FRIDAY MORNING IN A NEWS CONFERENCE AT THE UTAH STATE CAPITOL
Nader/Gonzalez Campaign Set to Secure Utah Ballot Line
Independent Presidential Candidate Ralph Nader and former Salt Lake City Mayor Rocky Anderson on Friday, Aug. 1, at 9 a.m., will hold a joint news conference at the Utah State Capitol, 350 S. State Street, 2nd Floor "Rotunda."
Mr. Nader and Mr. Anderson will talk about their demand for the impeachment of President Bush. Mr. Anderson testified Friday, July 25 in Washington in U.S. House Judiciary Committee hearings on presidential misconduct.
In that testimony, Mr. Anderson said, "The administration has engaged in heinous human rights violations, the most serious breaches of trust, abuses of power injurious to the nation, astounding denials of due process including indefinite detention without charges, or without even a hearing, war crimes, crimes against peace, misleading Congress and the American people about threats to our nation’s security and the supposed case for war, and grave violations of treaties, the Constitution, and domestic statutory law. There has never been a more compelling case for impeachment. Nothing would speak so loudly regarding the principled, non-partisan commitment of our nation to the rule of law, and to our jealous embrace of our constitutional democracy."
In addition, Mr. Nader will address the need for national ballot access reform and his proposal for a uniform nationwide set of ballot access laws. Mr. Nader will also be signing documents at the Utah Secretary of State's office to place himself and vice presidential running-mate, Matt Gonzalez, on the November 2008 election ballot. To qualify to appear on Utah's ballot, state law requires the candidate personally appear to sign the application for ballot status, as well as the submission of the signatures of 1,000 registered voters. The Nader/Gonzalez campaign has submitted more than 2,000 signatures.

According to a July 1 CNN poll, Ralph Nader is polling 6 percent nationally,
higher than his highest major poll numbers during the same time period in 2000
and approaching the 10 percent threshold required for eligibility to
participate in "America's Presidential Debate in New Orleans", Google-sponsored
event scheduled for September 18. In the key swing state of Michigan -- whose
voters were partially disenfranchised by the Democratic National Committee --
